My name is Grace Perez and I’m from Alice, TX. I am a student at Texas A&M University-Kingsville currently seeking a second bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology. My studies keep me extremely busy, so in my free time I find enjoyment in cooking and baking for my family. I find myself researching recipes online and I’m always on the look-out for ways that I can save money while providing meals that are delicious and aesthetically appealing. I believe that if it looks good, it’ll taste even better!

My name is Mariana Gomez and I am from Mission, Texas. I am a student at Texas A&M University -Kingsville. I am majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like to travel often; most recently I traveled to Europe where I was able to experience European cuisine. I consider myself to be very family oriented. I love cooking and baking with my family and friends. We get together and have what we call a “be creative” day, where one of us chooses a new recipe and we all contribute to the new creation. I consider myself to be a very cheerful and outgoing person.

My name is Dora Gonzalez and I am from Harlingen, Texas. I am a student at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. I am majoring in Communication Science and Disorders with a minor in Psychology. . Cooking is a time to bring the family together. My sister and I have always cooked together since we were little. I have a passion for cooking new recipes. When I start a new recipe, I follow it by the book and later on make it my own with extra ingredients. Cooking is a way that I believe you can express your creativity and create a masterpiece of your own. I was involved in KSHS, the campus news channel. I have recent experience in making videos, commercials and broadcasting since I was responsible in creating graphic designs through my involvement with media tech. My volunteer experiences have helped me broaden my interpersonal communication skills. I am fluent in two languages, which help me communicate with a wide range of people. Public speaking is a strong asset of mine. I have gained confidence and enhanced my ability when speaking to an audience filled with culture diversity.

Hi, my name is Ashley Gonzalez I am currently a senior at Texas A&M University-Kingsville majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Even though; my major requires 100% of my time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, shopping, and most of all cooking. Cooking is a way I can express myself. If I’ve had a bad day and I'm feeling down I can go into the kitchen and cook up a meal while I relieve some stress.

My name is Laura Valdes and Iwas born in a village called Piedras Negras, Coahuila which is right across the border between USA and Mexico. I was raised in a small town called Zaragoza, where my grandparents and parents grew up. Thanks to them I learned the customs of Mexican culture, and the diversity of their gastronomy. At age 17, I decided to study in the United States and attend Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde, Texas where I acquired an Associate’s Degree. I am currently seeking a bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. I hope to graduate in the fall of 2013.
